LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY — Bourbon Barrel Foods announces expansion of flagship store in Crescent Hill neighborhood. The Open to the Public Event will feature complimentary mini craft cocktails and gourmet bites. There will be cocktails, wine and beer for sale at the bar.
Founder and owner of Bourbon Barrel Foods, Matt Jamie, is set to open Eat Your Bourbon Marketplace (2708 Frankfort Avenue) in the historic Crescent Hill neighborhood directly next to Bourbon Barrel Foods flagship store (2710 Frankfort Avenue). Eat Your Bourbon Marketplace is a new concept for Bourbon Barrel Foods, completing the vision of a retail and gourmet food experience. It is designed to bring together Bourbon Barrel Foods' handcrafted products and gourmet recipes by offering prepared foods and craft cocktails.
Setting the tone of the space is a gorgeous locally-crafted, 30-foot bar made from upcycled bourbon barrels and oxidized steel fixtures. The bar is made out of 295 Staves, which is approximately 9 barrels and steadily handcrafted in 6 sections. Each section is composed of 50 staves each and assembled on sight.
On-going offerings at Eat Your Bourbon Marketplace will include grab-and-go prepared recipes from Matt Jamie's Eat Your Bourbon cookbook, charcuterie boards, and made-from-scratch bread and sandwiches. Chef Michael Crouch will be Resident Chef making the prepared food for the cases, and Butchertown Grocery Bakery will be making sandwiches. The bar program will focus on classic bourbon pours, craft and tapped cocktails, beer, wine and will also feature Bourbon Barrel Foods' Bourbon Barrel-Aged Coffee along with a house tea.
"We opened our first retail store in Crescent Hill about five years ago with only a handful of Bourbon Barrel Foods products. The neighborhood welcomed and supported us, and we grew the store to what it is today — we're excited to offer this new gourmet concept to the community," says Founder, Matt Jamie. Matt has either touched, approved or designed everything in Eat Your Bourbon Marketplace!
Eat Your Bourbon Marketplace (2708 Frankfort Avenue) will be open seven days a week from 10 am to 10 pm.
