Farm-to-Bouquet CSA Blossoms

Lakshmi Farms in Anchorage has launched Slow Flowers CSA, an effort to promote organically grown local and seasonal flowers.

“We hope to educate the community on the carbon footprint that flowers travel, sometimes around the globe, to reach your kitchen counter or your event,” said Prem Durham, owner of Lakshmi Farms.

“We want to help create a supply and demand for local flowers, by connecting the flower farmers and the event planners and the community. This movement of Slow Flowers will boost the local economy and bring American flower growers back.”

Lakshmi Farms is an 18-acre working farm dedicated to growing healthy soils and communities in the greater Louisville area.
