- 1 box yellow cake mix
- ½ cup butter
- 1 egg
- ½ cup chopped pecans, optional
- 2 cups cream cheese
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 eggs
For crust: Preheat oven to 350°. Combine cake mix, butter and egg until a soft dough is formed. Press mixture into bottom of a 9- by 13-inch pan.
For filling: Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add eggs, 1 at a time, until completely blended. Pour the mixture over the crust and spread evenly. Bake 30–45 minutes, until the filling is set and the top is a golden brown. Cool at room temperature for 1 hour before serving.
