The 2019 AICH Annual Lunar New Year Dinner is a wonderful time of celebration for Louisvillians to welcome the year of the Pig and to experience exclusive Asian gastronomic delights. It is our chance to experience an Asian inspired 5 course meal and the artwork of the 5 different chefs preparing this wonderful feast. It is also a time to celebrate Asian culture Louisville style. That’s right there is Bourbon at this party along with a sake and soju tasting. Of course, if you so choose, it is also a time to celebrate in clothing representing your favorite Asian country. Yes, now you have a reason to wear your kimonos, hanboks, sarees or contemporary designers like Prabal Gurung. In other words Lunar New Year is a time to celebrate, to dine, to drink and open our hearts to each other as the diverse community that is Louisville.

Asia Institute-Crane House celebrates the Lunar New Year every year but did you realize that each year is symbolized by 12 animals? 2018 was the year of the Dog. 2019 we will be celebrating the year of the Pig. The year of the Pig is special because it is an end of the 12 year cycle. So we are not just celebrating a new year but the last year before the next new cycle begins. 2019 is a time to reflect and accomplish all those goals we may still want to accomplish.

The Pig’s mantra is a very simple one. “Honesty opens all doors.” The year of the pig is about honesty and luxury. What a wonderful combination. Louisville has the wonderful luxury of having Asia Institute-Crane House as a major part of our community. Come join us as we celebrate the New Year together. Louisville’s own Valerie Chinn will MC for this festive event. Join us and enjoy the food of Chef Peng Looi, Chef Ming Pu (Executive Chef 502 Bar and Bistro), Chef James Moran (Pine Room), Chef Kristen Bucayu (Ashbourne Farms), Chef Dan Thomas Waypoint and Chef Brent Mills (Research and Development Chef Atria Senior Living). This event’s Co-Chairs Ring Tsai and Love Yascone are very excited to share this evening with the community. This event helps Crane House continue to open the doors of the arts, education and Asian culture to all of Louisville. Asia Institute-Crane House is a nonprofit that aids in the arts and education of the Louisville community and has a strong relationship with Louisville as a whole.
